COVID-19: 60 CRPF men, 11 cops among 260 among fresh cases, J&K tally 7497 | KNO

Srinagar, June 30 (KNO): Sixty CRPF personnel, two soldiers and 11 cops were among 260 cases that tested positive in J&K Tuesday taking the total number of positive cases in the UT to7497. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reveals that among new cases that were detected in J&K, 139 were tested positive at SKIMS, 36 at JVC Bemina, 48 at CD hospital and rest at other hospitals.  Among 260 new cases, 228 belong to Kashmir division while as 32 are from Jammu division, officials said, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division has reached to 5886 including 3564 recoveries and 89 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division has reached to 1611 including 1158 recoveries and 12 deaths. The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 2674 including 2233 from Kashmir division and 441 from Jammu division. With 137 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 4722 which is 62.98 percent of the total cases.  "Cases tested positive in J&K include 46 from Srinagar, 64 from Kulgam, 44 from Baramulla, 19 from Shopian, 17 from Anantnag, 01 from Kupwara, 03 from Bandipora, 19 from Budgam, 14 from Pulwama and 01 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 32 from Jammu division include 12 from Jammu, 07 from Udhampur, 5 each from Kuthua and Ramban, one from Samba and two from Rajouri," officials disclosed. Dr G H Yatoo, Nodal officer for Covid-19 at SKIMS said that out of 1731 samples tested at SKIMS on Tuesday, 139 samples were tested positive. He said that among 139 new cases, 60 are from CRPF battalions, 19 from Shopian, 18 from Anantnag, 13 each from Pulwama and Srinagar, 06 from Kulgam, 04 from Kulgam, 02 each from Ganderbal and Budgam and one each from Bandipora and Kupwara.  Dr Farooq Jan Medical Superintendent at SKIMS said that among 60 CRPF battalions, 58 are from 18 battalion CRPF, one each from 29 battalion Pantha chowk and 44 battalion HMT Srinagar,  7 from Army Goodwill school Khanabal and 11 from Police Station Rajpora Pulwama Dr Reyaz Untoo, Principal at JVC Bemina said that out of 501 samples tested at SKIMS Bemina (JVC) 36 including 16 from Budgam and 20 from Srinagar were tested positive.  He said that 04 more patients were discharged after recovery from hospital on Tuesday, taking tally of discharged patients to 483 while as 124 are undergoing treatment at hospital.  He further added that 17 normal deliveries were managed and 24 major surgeries were conducted at hospital till date. Officials from CD hospital positive cases include two from soldiers from 92 base BB cantonment Srinagar. As per officials figures, 938 positive cases including 24 deaths and 320 recoveries are from Srinagar, 860 including 16 deaths and 381 recoveries are from Baramulla, 831 including 584 recoveries and 13 deaths are from Kulgam, 768 including 12 deaths and 556 recoveries are from Shopian, 666 including 07 deaths and 548 recoveries are from Anantnag, 537 including 408 recoveries and 05 deaths are from Kupwara, 484 including  224 recoveries and 04 deaths are from Pulwama, 416 including 223 recoveries and 07 death are from Budgam, 294 including 258 recoveries and 01 death are from Bandipora, 92 including 62 recoveries are from Ganderbal. In Jammu division, 348 including 280 recoveries and 07 deaths are from Jammu district, 279 including 172 recoveries and 01 death are from Udhampur, 222 including 183 recoveries are from Ramban, 232 including 160 recoveries and 01 death is from Kathua, 145 including 96 recoveries from Samba, 123 including 102 recoveries and 01 death are from Poonch, 113 including 01 death and 60 recoveries are from Rajouri, 77 including 58 recoveries and 01 death are from Doda, 45 including 26 recoveries are from Reasi and 27 including 21 recoveries are from Kishtwar. As per the daily information bulletin, 281,581 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 39,866 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 2674 persons are in hospital isolation while 36 persons are under hospital quarantine. According to the bulletin, 191,992 persons have completed surveillance period and 46,912 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 365,058 samples are available. Out of 365,058 the number of samples tested negative stands at 357,561 while as 7497 have been tested positive, among them 2674 are active and 4722 persons have recovered and 101 persons have died—(KNO)
